Amidst the chaos and uncertainty of the current season, ritual and routine can benefit us now more than ever before. A weekly ritual can provide solace and a sense of structure as we begin to build our ‘new normal’ within this strange new reality we’re finding ourselves in.
Select a day each week to schedule in a half hour that’s just for you. It could be first thing in the morning, late at night, or in the middle of the day. Pen it in, and commit to it like any other appointment. Put on some calming music or embrace the quiet. Run a bath or light a candle to create some ambience. Head to your kitchen and prepare a simple mask with a few items you already have in your pantry.
Woodlot’s Rejuvenating Green Tea Mask
1 tsp of honey
Water (for oily skin), Milk (for combination skin), Jojoba Oil (for dry skin), or yogurt (for a cooling effect)
Optional: an essential oil or your favorite floral water
Mix 2 parts liquid to 1 part mask.
Blend in a bit of honey, making sure to stir thoroughly.
If the mix is still too dry, add more liquid. Mix until you have a paste-like consistency.
Add a few drops of your favorite essential oil or floral water.
Apply to your face, avoiding the eye area.
Leave on for 10-12 minutes. Wash off completely.
