Are your products natural?
Yes, all our products are made from plant-based ingredients. Our goal is to create home + body products with minimal but relevant ingredients.

Why coconut wax for candles?
We opted to go with Coconut wax for our candles because it's a renewable source. Coconut wax is too soft to be used on its own, so we blend our coconut wax with GMO-free soy wax.

How long do your candles burn for?
Our 13.5oz, double wicked candles burn for approximately 60 hours. Our 8oz jar candles burn for approximately 40 hours. Burning times are best achieved when candle care instructions are followed.

Where did the name Woodlot come from?
Our first encounter with a “woodlot” came when we stayed in a yurt on a woodlot outside of Toronto. When we came home to Vancouver, we realized that even though we live in the city, our home had really become our woodlot. It was the place from which we were able to hunker down, develop recipes, and create something wonderful from scratch. We fell in love with the idea of creating everything you need from the place you live in. Woodlot is about creating a meaningful life from the resources around you—and from the place you call home.

How fragrant are Woodlot candles?
We work with pure essential oils, which are lighter in scent distribution in comparison to fragrance oils. Our customers love the inviting and subtle nature of our scents.

Are your scents gender neutral?
Yes, our products are designed to be loved by all.

What is your top-selling scent?
Our top-selling scents are Original and Cascadia.

How long does your soap bar last for?
Most soap bars will last you for about a month.

Are your candle jars reusable?
Yes, we opted for a label-free vessel so you can continue to enjoy the jar. (See some ways others have repurposed their Woodlot jars )

Where are you sold?
We are sold in shops and independent boutiques across the world. For the most up-to-date information on locations, please visit our Stockist page.

What is the design on the vessel?
The design is meant to evoke the motion and energy of a match strike. The match strike signifies the power of fire, and the idea of starting something—whether it’s igniting creativity, or giving life to change.

Why two wicks?
We love the aesthetic of two wicks burning. We also find that burning two wicks helps with minimize tunnelling while maximizing scent distribution.
